JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A $14 million investment into a golf cart manufacturing facility is expected to bring 225 new jobs to Johnson City, officials announced Tuesday.

State officials announced Thursday BorTec USA’s plans to invest $3.1 million and create 35 new jobs at its plant at 3618 Bristol Highway.
The heat treatment plant will mainly produce wear- and corrosion-resistant pipes for the oil and gas industries.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A plastics company has selected Johnson City for its second US-based location and is expected to create more than 50 jobs.
PVS Plastics Technology Corporation will invest more than $5 million and will be located next to ebm-papst, one of its longtime customers. PVS will manufacture and supply injection molding plastics.

The Washington County Economic Development Council will hold a special-called meeting on June 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in the City Hall Administrative Conference Room, 601 E Main Street, Johnson City TN 37601. The purpose of the meeting is reading and approval of minutes, financial report, the consideration of the proposed FY2027 Washington County Economic Development Council Budget, Executive Directors report, and any other matters that may come before the board.
